Cocoa Pastel / Mo Milan
Mo Milan is a Las Vegas-based composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans two distinct musical monikers: Cocoa Pastel and Mo Milan.
As Cocoa Pastel, Milan creates vibrant, synth-driven pop that blends dark wave and electronic influences with catchy, dynamic melodies. The themes of her music often center on resilience, reinvention, and the beauty of starting over. A one-woman band, Milan handles every aspect of the creative process, from songwriting and instrumentation to production and mixing, building a unique sound that invites listeners into a colorful and energetic world.
Under Mo Milan, she dives into more experimental and introspective territory, exploring genres ranging from neo-classical to folktronica. With a focus on evoking emotions through the seamless integration of visual media and sound, Milan creates immersive audio-visual experiences, often pairing her music with films and visuals she creates herself. This allows her to amplify the emotional depth of her work, giving each piece a deeply personal touch.
A classically trained violinist, Milan is skilled in a variety of instruments, including vocals, guitar, piano, drums, mandolin, and synthesizers. Her diverse musical background has been shaped by her involvement in several previous projects, including REIGN-A and Atomic Heart Band, and her role as lead guitarist for Echo Stains and Angel Groove, where she performed throughout Las Vegas.
Now, Milan is preparing to release her debut dual mini-album, featuring two EPs — one under Cocoa Pastel and one under Mo Milan. This release will showcase her ability to fluidly navigate between the energetic, synth-pop sound of Cocoa Pastel and the introspective, experimental compositions of Mo Milan, offering listeners a dynamic, multifaceted experience.
